Our Impact
Family Promise of the Black Hills invites everyone in the Black Hills community to be a part of the solution to end child and family homelessness. Families come to us in a crisis; our approach of community based and coordinated compassion helps them rebuild their lives with new skills and ongoing support needed to obtain and maintain housing stability.
CHANGING LIVES
Nationally, over the past 30+ years, we have provided shelter, meals, case management, homelessness prevention and stabilization services to nearly 1 million family members.
KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER
We believe families should stay together - not separated - during the most difficult times in their lives while they work towards achieving independence.
SUCCESS STORIES
Through our intensive case management, and with the help of our community partners and volunteers, we have helped numerous Black Hills families secure housing and work towards long-term stability. Nationally, about 80% of families leaving a Family Promise program successfully secure permanent or transitional housing. We are on our way to meeting that average.
ENGAGING OUR COMMUNITY
We rely on the support of our community to achieve our mission. Collectively across all the Family Promise Affiliates, we mobilize more than 200,000 dedicated volunteers who make a tremendous difference in families’ lives—and in their communities. Together we can create a brighter future for our community.
WORKING SMART
We are committed to using our resources efficiently and effectively. For every dollar invested in Family Promise of the Black Hills, we return $4 in donated goods and services, maximizing your impact on the community.
LOCAL INITIATIVES
Our volunteers don't stop at shelter, meals and support services. We believe the solutions to homelessness must be tailored to the unique needs of each community. That's why we work with our partners to bring targeted initiatives at the local level, providing families with the compassion and support they need to achieve lasting independence.
